how to be a dj

One of the most common questions I get asked is “If I want to learn how to be a DJ where exactly do I start?”

The answer is simple.

Get Started.

If you haven’t had much experience with DJ equipment and haven't bought your own gear yet, it doesn’t matter. What’s most important is that you get stuck in however you can and use whatever resources you have access to.

Ready to buy your own gear?

Great. A lot of people don’t have the money to buy DJ gear straight away. If you do and want to get your own set up as soon as possible, you’ll be able to find a wide range of affordable DJ equipment online.

Do the research and find the gear that’s right for you. We’re always happy to help our DJ Master Course members with any questions you've got when you're looking to buy, so don’t hesitate to drop us an email inside the members lounge.

If you’re looking to become a professional DJ, we recommend that you get the industry standard equipment that you’ll be using in the clubs, but that’s not necessary to begin with.

Don’t have your own DJ equipment?

Knowing someone who has a DJ set up can be a great start. Having a friend to practice with is a good way to keep motivated and exchange your ideas.
